Job Description

YMCA Camp Sea Gull for boys and YMCA Camp Seafarer for girls are large overnight camps, with prime coastal waterfront access.

Our on-site Health Centers are staffed by Registered Nurses and volunteer physicians. The Health Center teams are charged with the responsibility of being proactive in prevention of disease and injury and providing prompt and competent medical care to all campers and staff. Because good health is a necessity that provides for a happy and successful camp experience, the Health Center teams also provide health education for campers and staff. We embrace the opportunity to assist differently abled campers to be incorporated into a full camp experience

Job Requirements

Job Description
-- Be proactive in implementing the focus on wellness and personal responsibility of one’s own health.
--Assist campers to appreciate good health, and grow in knowledge of health practices.
--Provide campers and staff with prompt and appropriate medical and nursing care.
--Assist in supervising the total public health of the camp environment.
-- Keep accurate medical records.
-- Be proactive in the public health issues of communal living.
--Be proactive in insuring safety in all aspects of camp life.
--Recognize that camp is programmed toward building character of campers and staff and support this endeavor.

Job Requirements
1. Has current license in NC or license in compact state
2. Possess a current CPR certification in either Red Cross or American Heart Association.
3. Experience with and desire to work with children ages 7 – 16.
4. Possess leadership abilities.
5. Commitment to YMCA Camp Sea Gull and YMCA Camp Seafarer mission and philosophy
6. Excellent communication skills
