How large is the staff?
Brown Ledge employs about 90 staff members, of which about 60 are activity counselors and 30 are support staff. Staff range from 19 to 65+, with an average age of 26. Our staff come from all across the United States and 20-30% hail from outside the United States.
What makes our staff experience unique?
Trust is a hallmark of our community, so our staff has a large measure of freedom. Like our campers, we want our staff to develop a sense of independence, autonomy, and responsibility within our community. Staff share a living space with other staff members, not with campers. We also encourage staff to participate in activities during their time off, so long as campers are still given priority.
