Camp Nurse, Assistant Medical Director

Camp Nubar head staff and counselors have been selected based on their background, experience, training and interest in working with children. They have completed a comprehensive training session on safety, activities procedures and child care. Most of our staff is certified in First Aid and CPR.

Our staff consists primarily of Senior Counselors (ages 18+) and Junior Counselors (age 17), many of whom have evolved from campers and counselors-in-training and have developed a deep love and respect for our Camp. We also employ international counselors through Camp America, an organization dedicated to providing camps with highly qualified staff from countries around the world. These staff members provide campers with exposure to a variety of cultures and a fresh and unique perspective on the world around us. In addition, our Director, Assistant Director, Waterfront Director, Boys’ Head Counselor, Girls’ Head Counselor and Camp Nurse all oversee the ongoing operations of the camp and provide leadership and guidance to our counselors.
 
Camp experience is preferred, but not required assuming previous employment experience is adequate.  Salary is negotiable based on experience.  Our goal is to have a medical team in the infirmary who will share everyday duties and work together to meet the needs of the campers and staff.
 
 

Candidates should be comfortable with evaluating and treating campers during infirmary visits throughout the day, as well as distributing daily medications to staff and campers and maintaining a medication log. First Aid certification, CPR and BLS required.
