Must be licensed in MA or be able to obtain a single-state endorsement in MA
Valid CPR certification required
Responsibilities:
Ability to ensure children are comfortable and feel safe at camp
Responding to illness or injury that may occur in the camp community
Administration and distribution of medications as well as the maintenance and security of these medications, including OTC
Ability to perform basic assessments and triage camper and staff needs while collaborating with the on-staff physician
Communications with the Head Nurse and Health Center Administrator related to supplies, safety concerns, and other issues
Checks of campers and staff staying on-site at the Health Center
Contribute to ongoing organization and planning in the Health Center, including packaging medications for upcoming trips and preparing for new camp sessions
Manage the Health Center facility including cleanliness, stocking supplies, filing, etc.
Manage communications with parents in partnership with Head Nurse, Health Center Administrators, Physician and Community Care Team
Always on-call except on specified time off
Time off is NOT guaranteed
Work hours will vary with an average of 6-8 hours per day expected
Additional duties for the member sleeping in the Health Center
Be available to assist at all hours of the night
It is rare, but emergencies do occur at all hours
Must be able to wake to knocks on the door, phone calls, or calls to the walkie-talkie
Be willing/able to check on admitted individuals before going to sleep and upon waking in the morning
