Eden Village camp is a non-profit overnight camp rooted in the Jewish vision of creating a more environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually connected world. We’re dedicated to providing campers with an incredible summer experience while empowering them to promote a vibrant future for themselves, their communities, and planet. The position involves:
Assisting with set-up of health center.
Helping to review and organize camper medical records before campers arrive.
Inventory support and organization i.e. first aid kits stocked, etc.
Making beds, doing laundry and helping keep Health Center clean and organized
Parent communications - making sure they get info they need in a timely manner
Bringing food to infirmed campers/staff who miss meals, and bringing those dishes back to the dining hall after they are done eating. Know food needs, allergies, sensitivities
Know campers food needs, allergies, sensitivities
Assist in ensuring medical form completion
Help process and organize meds
Retrieve campers’ items from bunks if they are staying overnight in the health center
coordinating with counselors when kids are in health center
Helping to run two daily open clinics- assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for campers and staff with proper documentation.
Cleaning up after patients, doing laundry, and keeping the Health Center a happy place.
Computer data entry and answering the phones.
Greeting children and staff when they come to the Health Center needing care.
Crowd control during busy times.
Other duties as assigned by the Head Nurse or Director of Parent Engagement.
We hope you will approach your practice as addressing the whole of each camper and staffer, work towards managing illness and injuries but also creating robust physical/emotional/spiritual health, and feel inspired by our camp's spirit.
We will have 120 - 200 people onsite at any given time. The health center will be staffed by one Head Nurse, three staff nurses and two to four Health Center Aides. Our Medical Director is available 24/7 for consultation.
Covid Expectations:
We are an overnight summer camp, and will be creating a closed “bubble” at camp this summer. Staff will not be leaving for evenings or days off throughout the summer
All campers and staff will participate in a 10-day self quarantine prior to arrival
You will be required to wear a mask and distance when interacting with people at camp outside of your smaller covid “pod”
Must be at least 18 years old, and are expected to stay at camp the entire season including staff training.
