The Camp Nurse is an administrative position that is responsible for the health and well-being of students and staff.
§ Reports to: Head Nurse and Outdoor Education Director (school year), Summer Camp Director (summer)
§ Pay: $22 an hour – Minimum 40 hours a week.
§ Shift: All shifts available
§ Benefits: provided after 90 days, Staff housing optional.
§ One season commitment required.
§ California-RN or LVN license.
§ Experience in pediatric, school, camp, outpatient or emergency care is preferred.
§ Positive role model for instructors/counselors.
§ Ability to effectively train instructors/counselors during orientation on infirmary protocol.
§ Strong interpersonal communication skills.
§ Ability to effectively and tactfully communicate (verbally and written) concerns, feedback and information to staff, administration, teachers and parents.
§ Understand and apply pertinent personnel policies, laws, rules and regulations.
§ Must have demonstrated good judgment and decision-making ability.
§ Must be approachable and friendly.
§ Must have initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision.
§ Must be 100% organized. Detail oriented
§ Must be flexible and diverse in philosophies to work with various types of clients.
§ All staff members must have the ability to respond immediately to an emergency.
