Pediatric Registered Nurse for Medical Summer Camp
Camp Boggy Creek, a member of the Serious Fun Camps (formally a Hole in the Wall Association) is located just 45 minutes north of Orlando, Florida. We are a year round medical camp serving children ages 7-16 with chronic or life threatening illnesses. Camp Boggy Creek offers a summer residential camping sessions and family retreat weekends in the spring and fall for the entire family. Our summer programs allow the child to experience a week of traditional camp fun, adventure and independence in a setting that provides complete medical care.
Camp Boggy Creek is inviting Pediatric Registered Nurses to join our team of Summer Camp Nurses and enjoy a unique summer of caring for our exceptional campers in a state of the art medical facility and one of a kind camp. We serve children from 12 different illness groups including, Cancer, Hemophilia, Arthritis, Severe Asthma, IBD, Craniofacial, Spina Bifida, Epilepsy, Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, Sickle Cell Disease, HIV/AIDS, and host up to 150 campers per session.
These seasonal positions are from late May, 2017 through August 17, 2017. A paid 2 week orientation will be required. Must have a Florida Nursing License. Summer nurses report directly to the Nurse Manager and are required to reside on camp during camping sessions. (Applicants children would not be allowed to reside at camp.) Primary job responsibilities include, administering medications, astute clinical assessments, and social interaction with the campers. Ideal candidates will have the ability to communicate professionally, one year Pediatric experience (preferred), PALS certified, be able to collaborate with medical and programs team and ability to participate in physical activities and enjoy working with children.
