Wilshire Blvd Temple camps is the premier and largest Jewish camp in Southern California for over 75 years! Unfortunately, our beautiful camp was decimated in the fall 2018 Malibu fires, so now we have a temporary location while we are rebuilding.
Our new temporary location is the University of California Channel Islands campus.
We will have a centrally located infirmary on the campus that will accommodate both camps.
Our faith based camp is a sleep away camp for campers from 1 week to 26 days. Medical staff can stay from 3 days until the end of the camp if you want too.
Nurses Requirements: Must have at least 1 year experience in any of these areas: Pediatrics, Adult, School nursing, urgent care, or prior camp nursing experience.
The camp nurse duties include: Health management and assessments, parent conferences, electronic documentation, education for health team, campers and staff as needed, infirmary triage and patient flow management. A physician or Nurse Practitioner is on campus at all times as the mid level provider. There are 4 scheduled clinic hours daily and the nurses are responsible for all camper and staff health concerns and emergencies. Shifts are daily 8-10 pm with down time during the day to do as you please. The night call is rotated amongst the medical staff.
Lots free time daily to explore the beach and hike or whatever you like to do. Nurses are allowed 1 free camper day for every day worked and may have up to 2 children for free at camp while working. Each medical staff member gets their own dorm style suite bedroom that shares a kitchen and living room with another staff member. Free wifi too!
Check out the attached video to see the new temporary camp location and environment.
Please peruse the WBTCamps.org website for more info.
Our first priority is the campers and creating transformative experiences for them, but we also care deeply about the staff and their personal and professional journeys.
Do consider joining us for camp this fun filled summer of 2019!
