Nature and Scope:

Under the supervision of the Camp Director and in cooperation with other staff, the Resident Camp Infirmary staff is responsible for developing program-specific health setting needs of campers and staff while at resident camp. The Resident Camp Infirmary staff is responsible for collaborating with professional staff to meet the needs of campers and staff, follow health care protocols and procedures set up by the YMCA, DPH, and American Camp Association.

Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
• Valid medical licensing as required by Georgia state law. (RN)
• Required certifications current First Aid/CPR.
• Complete PPE and safety protocol training prior to first shift.
• Able to serve at least one week while living on property the entire time.
• Experience with children as well as adults.
• A working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel, data base management
• Exemplify YMCA ideals, leadership qualities
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective time management skills
• Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Pass a criminal background and drug screening check
• Pass a Motor Vehicles Record and have own transportation.
• Live on site in the medical housing unit during the duration of the summer camp season
• Report to the camp facility within a week of camper arrival.
• Apply basic first aid care to campers and staff as needed on a daily basis.
• Dispense pre-packaged medicine to campers and staff as needed up to four times a day based on physician documentation
• Perform COVID 19 safety procedures and all other necessary protocols before, during, and post camp.
o To include: Personal temperature checks, camper and parent temperature checks and prescreen questions, sanitation of camp areas.
• Assure that all necessary PPE are available to provide an effective and safe program
• Assist in planning and implementation of social distancing programs and safety protocol which will assist in the development of the camper physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually and which promote YMCA values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
• Report to the Camp Director/Unit Leader any difficult or unusual situations.
• Share problems with the Camp Director/Unit Leader so they can be solved.
• Stay updated on current issues regarding overnight camp programs.
• Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that all day camp and resident camp programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
• Maintain branch and association certifications in Metro Atlanta YMCA New Staff Orientation and Branch off-site Emergency procedures and any other required certifications and/or training required by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
• Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident/accident paperwork.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to Metro Atlanta YMCA policies and procedures.

This position has a primary impact on the overall effectiveness of the resident camp program and the success of services to the community. The effectiveness of this position is primarily measured by the stated satisfaction of members and ensuring a safe, clean, controlled and fun environment in accordance with the Metro Atlanta YMCA Philosophy.

ERGONOMICS:
Ability to work actively while supervising children. Ability to climb, walk, run, stoop, squat or kneel. Ability to lift and carry equipment to appropriate destinations or affect the carrying of such equipment. Ability to use senses which enable safe supervision including seeing and/or hearing.
