Residential Camp Nurse

The Perlman Music Program (PMP), a summer program for gifted string players on Shelter Island, Long Island, is seeking a summer camp nurse from June 28 until August 6.

Founded in 1994 by Toby Perlman and her husband, violinist Itzhak Perlman, PMP offers unparalleled musical training to young string players of rare and special talent from across the country and the world. Based in Shelter Island, NY, PMP is developing the future leaders of classical music within a nurturing and supportive community.

The Program counts 35-40 kids ages 13-18, and 20 staff and faculty members.

The nurse is required to be on campus 24/7, and will be provided with an air-conditioned studio apartment located below the nurse's office and infirmary on our idyllic waterfront campus.

Meals are provided throughout the program; Necessary travel will be covered or reimbursed.

Requirements:

Dispense medications as needed and keep a health log for campers. Administer rapid COVID tests as needed, and manage the COVID tracing program. Be present and available to communicate with campers and staff members with health-related complaints. Work closely with Dean of Students and staff to determine which treatment is appropriate, and to keep them up to date on campers' health issues. Book appointments with the doctor as needed.

Nurse Practitioner, RN, LPN or EMT NYS License
