Job Description

Are you a health professional with experience working with youth?  Are you interested in a seasonal role that makes a difference in the community while on an island setting? This may be the opportunity for you...

Children's Island, a beautiful ocean oasis in the middle of Marblehead Harbor hosts a YMCA Summer Camp June through August.  As a Camp nurse on the Island, you will help provide first aid and care supporting the needs of the camp counselors and children. The Camp Nurse helps campers stay safe and healthy so they can have a fun summer experience.  On a regular day, you will distribute medications to campers, communicate medication paperwork to families and the camp director, as well as review and communicate physical and immunization records according to Department of Public Health Camp Regulations.  Additionally, you will tend to injuries that may happen throughout the day and keep accurate records and reports. It will be your responsibility to organize, maintain, and utilize adequate resources for serving the health and medical needs of the campers and staff, distributing first aid materials as needed. We also have a camp at the Marblehead Y where we are looking for a nurse!

To thrive in this position, you must have the ability to assess medical needs in children and adults, respond appropriately, and have first aid and emergency management experience.  On this remote island location, you will be the first response for first aid and emergencies that may occur. During the summer you’ll soak up the sun while making a difference in our summer camp programs and camps.
