Quinipet Camp & Retreat Center, located on beautiful Shelter Island, NY, is looking for a Nurse Assistant to join our summer camp team! This is an incredible opportunity for a nursing student or someone interested in a healthcare career to develop pediatric and adolescent care skills in a supportive, fun-filled environment.
Under the guidance of an experienced RN, you’ll be an essential part of camp life—handling first aid, assisting with assessments, documenting care, and ensuring the well-being of our campers and staff. Some days, you might be administering bandages; other days, you could be making a quick trip to the doctor’s office; every day, you’ll be making a difference!
What You’ll Do:
- Assist the Camp Nurse with first aid, assessments, and documentation
- Support campers and staff with health needs
- Maintain the Health Center and first-aid supplies
- Drive campers and staff to medical appointments when necessary
- Be an integral part of a welcoming, enthusiastic team
What We’re Looking For:
- Nursing student or college student interested in a healthcare career
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Valid driver’s license (must be at least 21 years old)
- Current or ability to obtain Red Cross Advanced First Aid (RTE), AED and CPR PR
- Experience with pediatrics or adolescent behavioral health is a plus
