This summer Camp Tanuga will be hiring (3) medical officers to organize and run the medical center at camp. The team of ‘nurses’ dispenses and logs all daily medications. They also provide basic first aid for the daily bumps and bruises at camp as well as facilitate any emergency situation. They are responsible for inventory and stock of all first aid kits around camp as well as those created out of camping / day trips.During our 9-week residential period (2 weeks of staff training + 7 weeks of campers) we will utilizing a telemedicine format and have access to a pediatrician to assist with medical needs throughout the season.
Medical staff should expect to be involved in all aspects of Covid-19 protocol ie testing, daily monitoring of symptoms and initial treatment. Communication with parents, the local health department and the camp physician can be expected.
The medical team will also assist in Emergency Action Plan (EAP) & CPR training during staff weeks & throughout the summer.
