Looking for a summer of nursing AND fun? We have a summer job for you! CampGroup is hiring RNs and LPNs to work at one of our many sleepaway camps this summer in Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. 

We pay top salaries and provide room and board, as well as access to many fun activities during your time off. Many of our camps also offer free tuition for nurses' children! Children must be camp age. Our campers are ages 7-16, and we serve a typically healthy population. We do have some campers with medical issues such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies (food and environmental).

We own and operate 20 of the finest children's camps in the country! Our campers come from around the world and stay onsite for 1-8 weeks (varies by camp).

Qualifications and Requirements to be a CampGroup Nurse:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree
  • Must be available for at least 3 weeks this summer
  • Flexible-- able to adapt to different environments and schedules
  • Good bedside manner, friendly and personable
  • Strong assessment abilities
  • Prior experience with children (does not have to be in a medical capacity)
  • Team player
  • Willing to fill out paperwork to obtain Nurse licensure (camp will reimburse costs)
  • New nursing graduates and nurses with families are welcome

 

 

Job Requirements

Camp Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Dispense meds
  • First aid for minor injuries
  • Ensure health and safety of campers and staff
  • Daily sick call
  • Weekly health checks
  • Communicating specific camper health needs (allergies, special diets) to staff
  • Medical record-keeping
  • Liaising with local doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies
  • Communicate with camper parents as needed
  • Accompany sick/injured campers or staff to the hospital or to medical appointme
