Job Description
General Description:

The Wilderness First Responder will provide emergency medical care to Frost Valley staff and guests on the main camp, Farm and East Valley Ranch. They must possess and maintain certification in Wilderness First Responder. They must have the ability to work long hours, and provide overnight and/or weekend coverage as needed on camp. Maintains professionalism, always leading by example for the children that surround them. Making sure that the emergency vehicle is stocked with appropriate supplies. Ensures that camp first aid kits are stocked and that emergency equipment is properly located and accessible. Assist in staff and emergency preparedness trainings. Complete progress notes and adverse occurrence reports as needed.

This applicant will also assist in the continuation of the Wellness Center duties, this entails promoting proper rest, hygiene, fluid and nutritional intake for all campers in Wellness Center care. They will maintain a clean environment and meeting/communicating campers needs to appropriate Wellness Center personnel. 


Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to emergency calls, taking the lead in medical care when necessary
Mandated to participate in all Wellness Center trainings ie: emergency preparedness drills, CPR, First Aid, and Epi pen administration.
Collaborate with outside emergency services personnel, Wellness Center staff and Director team
Report unsafe/hazardous situations on Frost Valley property
Ensuring all radios are charged, full functioning with volume up
Assist with risk management, safety, security and emergency planning
Responsible for maintaining and keeping a clear and accurate shift report and updated call out report
Create and send emails to Field Safety Coordinator and/or Health Care Administrator and Director of Operations whenever an ambulance/EMS has been activated/called for an emergency
Perform other duties as assigned by Field Safety Coordinator and/or Health Care Administrator
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally
Follow COVID-19 policy and protocols
Physical Requirements:
Walking and standing for long periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
